Conway's Game of Life is a cellular automaton with four simple rules:
- Any live cell with 2 or 3 live neighbours survives
- Any dead cell with exactly 3 live neighbours becomes alive
- Every other live cell dies (loneliness or overcrowding)
- Every other dead cell stays dead
How to play:
- Click or tap cells to toggle them alive/dead
- Drag across the grid to paint multiple cells at once
- Press Play to run the simulation, Step to advance one generation
- Use the Speed slider to adjust generations per second
- Load a pattern to try a famous configuration like the glider or Gosper gun
- The edges wrap — patterns that fly off one side return from the other
- Your highest surviving generation count is saved to the leaderboard
