Classic Draughts — 8×8
Goal. Capture all of your opponent's pieces, or leave them with no legal moves.
Moving. Pieces move one square diagonally forward to an empty dark square. Red moves up the board; Black moves down.
Capturing. Jump diagonally over an adjacent opponent piece onto the empty square beyond. If a capture is available, you must take it. When the same piece can keep capturing, you must continue the chain.
Kings. Reach the far row and your piece is crowned (marked with a gold ring). Kings move and capture diagonally in any direction.
How to play. Click one of your pieces to see its valid moves, then click a destination to move. Blue dots are moves; red dots are captures.
Checkers (also called Draughts) is a two-player strategy board game played on an 8x8 grid. Each player starts with 12 pieces that move diagonally forward and capture by jumping over opponent pieces. Reaching the far side of the board promotes a piece to a king, which can move diagonally in both directions.

Control the center of the board to limit your opponent"s movement options. Keep your back row intact as long as possible to prevent your opponent from getting kings. Trade pieces when you are ahead in material, and try to create double-jump opportunities.
